Santa's International Family Day
Description
Santa's International Family Day is a long standing tradition at the McGaw YMCA. While Santa does make
an appearance, this event is a celebration of diverse cultures and customs, with interactive booths showing costumes, geography,
food, music and art of at least 20 different countries, and arts and crafts for Christmas, Kwanzaa and Hanukkah. We are currently
looking for both individuals and groups to create booths, help as booth assistants, arts & crafts assistants, run games
and help greet participants. There is some reimbursement for the purchase of supplies and materials.
Skills
This opportunity is suitable for volunteers of all ages, but volunteers must enjoy children and families
and be tolerant of crowds and noise, because this event is very well attended. Volunteers who need to be somewhat inactive
can sit in our lobby as greeters and help check-in guests. The volunteer commitment will range from 2-4 hours depending on
position and volunteer availability. We are flexible with this. |
